About

Kidney disease affects about 10% of the word population, takes many forms and has many causes.  One of these is polycystic kidney disease, an inherited disorder. Kidney transplants  between living donors and recipients have been carried out since successfully since 1954, yet there are tens of thousands of people around the world waiting to receive healthy kidneys.

Diary of a Living Donation is intended to shed light on the kidney donation process by tracing the journey of a recipient and potential donors, and their friends and family, through the ins and outs, ups and downs, paperwork and procedures, involved.

We hope to show that this life-giving treatment is safe and accessible, in the hopes of encouraging more people to consider registering as Living Donors.
